THE GRASS GROWS GREEN marked the debut for writer /director Jesus "Chin" Beltran. The film premiered at the 2007 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL and went on to play at over thirty film festivals in 2007 including SXSW, AFI Dallas and Nashville. It garnered wins for Best Narrative Short Film at the 2007 Santa Cruz Film Festival and the 2007 Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival. The film was picked up by Iron Weed Films and also gained distribution through iTunes and Netflix.
